One of the biggest obstacles to moving forward is unforgiveness. Sometimes we need to forgive someone who hurt us. Sometimes, perhaps even more difficult, we need to forgive ourselves, says the writer.
THERE comes a point in life when we all look back and wonder: What if I had done things differently? What if I had made another choice? What if I had spoken up, walked away, stayed, tried harder, or forgiven sooner?
Regret is a human emotion. We all carry moments we wish we could rewrite. Some are small decisions that seemed insignificant at the time. Others are painful experiences that changed the course of our lives. But perhaps the greatest lesson I have learnt is this: we cannot change yesterday, but we can decide what yesterday will teach us.
My book, Masterpiece, is, in many ways, a reflection of that journey. It is a story shaped by the many experiences, people, mistakes, disappointments, joys and challenges that have crossed my path. Looking back, I can see that every season contributed something to the person I am becoming.
Some experiences strengthened me. Others broke me open. Some taught me about people, while others taught me about myself. And some lessons only became clear much later.
