The data centre industry in India is projected to touch 101 million square feet of space by 2030 from the current level of 27 million sq.ft.

This will entail an investment of $300 billion, according to a report.

Anarock Capital, in its report Data centre: the blueprint of the digital fortress in India, noted that the rapid adoption of AI is one of the most important drivers of current and future data centre demand.

AI will directly impact the design and engineering requirements of the next generation of facilities, it added.

Anarock Capital CEO Shobhit Agarwal said, “The projected 101 Mn sq ft data centre footprint highlights the sheer physical scale of the real estate opportunity.
