Chelsea has slapped a £65 million price tag on Nicolas Jackson, and Aston Villa appears to be the club most willing to pay it. The 25-year-old striker, who spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, has become a central piece in Chelsea’s effort to trim their famously bloated squad before the transfer window slams shut.
Villa push for a permanent deal
Aston Villa has emerged as the frontrunner to sign Jackson on a permanent basis. The Midlands club, managed by Unai Emery, is actively pursuing a deal as late August 2026 approaches its final days.
Atlético Madrid has also entered the conversation, though their approach is notably different. Diego Simeone’s side is reportedly exploring a loan arrangement, potentially with an option to buy, rather than committing to the full asking price upfront.
Chelsea, however, has made its preference clear: they want a clean, permanent sale. After already sending Jackson out on loan to Bayern Munich for the previous campaign, the club has little appetite for another temporary arrangement that simply delays the financial return.
