DUBAI: Palestinian artist Silman Mansour died at 79, Mansour’s family said in an Instagram post on Monday.

Masnour was one of the most influential figures in contemporary Palestinian art and his work was regarded as a symbol of Palestinian resistance and struggle.

“To the world, he leaves behind a life filled with beauty, memory, and a legacy that will continue to live through all those he touched,” the artist’s family wrote in an Instagram story post. “But to us, we lost a father, our source of love, strength, and home.”

No cause of death has been disclosed yet but Mansour’s family had shared earlier that the artist was in critical condition.
