MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through its grant-in-aid (GIA), has earmarked P300 million as seed fund for the expansion of its data centers.

Franz De Leon, director of DOST’s Advanced Science and Technology Institute, made this known Monday during the House committee on appropriations hearing on the agency’s P30.8 billion proposed budget.

“The proposal to expand [its capabilities] 26-fold by 2028 How much will this cost?” Tinio asked.
