Despite TikTok, Snapchat and Facebook prohibiting content that promotes crime, videos glamorising dangerous driving appear to be falling through the cracks.
The i Paper asked the social media companies whether they will remove joyriding content; if they planned to update any algorithms to stop promoting this content; and whether they flag these videos and accounts to the police.
TikTok and Meta – which owns Facebook and Instagram – did not provide an on-the-record comment, while Snapchat did not respond before the deadline for publication.
