Andy Burnham has declared that the UK will continue to stand with Ukraine “in the dark and in the light” at a ceremony in Kyiv marking Ukraine’s Independence Day.

He promised to share classified blueprints so Ukraine can build its own Storm Shadow missiles – and when Russia claimed that would “add fuel to the fire” – Mr Burnham hit back – asking “who started the fire?” But what Ukraine urgently needs is air defence.
