UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham will work to strengthen assistance to Ukraine, including through the Coalition of the Willing, particularly in air defense and efforts to counter Russian missile strikes.

He said this during a ceremony marking Ukraine’s Independence Day at Sophia Square in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Burnham noted that Ukraine is on the front line of Europe’s security, and therefore its allies must not only support it but also express their gratitude and respect.

The British Prime Minister stressed that despite threats from Russia against his country, Britain would continue to support Ukraine’s defense.

“Later today, I will take up the reins of the Coalition of the Willing alongside President Macron and Chancellor Merz. I am determined that we will work together to deliver the support you need, Mr. President, stronger than ever. That means not just air defense, but stopping Russia launching their missiles in the first place,” Burnham said.
