The occupiers shelled Shyroka Balka in the Stanislav community. A 76-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries as a result of the Russian attack. In Kherson, an 11-year-old boy was injured in a drone attack.
According to Ukrinform, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this.
“According to the investigation, on August 24, 2026, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Russian military forces carried out an attack on Kherson, dropping explosives from an unmanned aerial vehicle,” the statement reads. As noted, an 11-year-old boy who was inside a house at the time of the strike was injured as a result of the attack. The victim was hospitalized. Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson District Prosecutor’s Office, a pretrial investigation has been launched into the commission of a war crime.
According to the Regional Military Administration, the boy sustained blast injuries and an acute stress reaction as a result of the Russian drone attack on the Dniprovskyi District of Kherson.
According to the Regional Military Administration, Russian invaders continue to strike residential buildings in Kherson with drones. During the day, in the city’s Central District, an enemy UAV struck a high-rise apartment building directly. Inside the apartment, the balcony was shattered, windows were blown out, and the walls and rooms were riddled with damage. A 63-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman were injured in the strike. They were diagnosed with blast injuries, closed head injuries, and concussions. The victims are currently under medical supervision. The Regional Military Administration has released a video showing the aftermath of this attack.
