Please try againThe GM tentative agreements will cover 2,750 members employed at the assembly plant in Oshawa, Ont., 1,050 at the idled CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ont., 700 at propulsion plant in St. Catharines, Ont. and 110 at the parts distribution centre in Woodstock, Ont.Approximately 30 per cent of Unifor members at General Motors in Canada were on layoffs when talks opened earlier this month.Details of the agreements will be released to members at ratification meetings scheduled Aug. 29 to 30.“Our bargaining committee worked diligently to reach these agreements, which deliver strong income and benefit gains, amid some of the most challenging times in our history,” said Unifor national president Lana Payne.• Email: dpaglinawan@postmedia.comGeneral Motors did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
