The VGM Hospital, Coimbatore, inaugurated its first satellite medical centre, the Kovai VGM Multispecialty Center, in Gobichettipalayam on Sunday (August 23, 2026), with the aim of providing specialised healthcare closer to people in the region.A release said Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan inaugurated the centre and delivered the special address. K. Shanmugasundaram, past District Governor, Rotary District 3203, was the special guest. The centre will cater to residents of Gobichettipalayam, Bhavani, Anthiyur, Sathyamangalam and surrounding areas.It will offer consultations and treatment in various specialities and coordinate with the main hospital in Coimbatore for emergencies and complex cases. Hospital founder and chairman V.G. Mohan Prasad said the centre was established with the objective of making quality healthcare easily accessible to people in rural areas. As part of the inauguration programme, members of the VGM medical team were recognised and felicitated for their valuable contributions and dedicated service, the release added.
