USTR Jamieson Greer said Canada changed its demands in the final hours of negotiations, while Ottawa blamed the U.S. for last-minute changes

U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told CNBC on Monday that Canada was responsible for the collapse of trade negotiations last week, saying Ottawa shifted its position in the final hours after the two sides had reached what he described as the outline of a deal.
Speaking on CNBC's "Squawk Box," Greer described how talks had advanced far enough by Tuesday night that the two sides believed they had charted a path to an agreement — only for the effort to unravel. "Then we set about to finalize it, and then in the last hours, I think there were things that the Canadians just — you know, they wanted more," he said.
