Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty sustained what is believed to be a sprained right ankle at practice in Henderson, Nev.

Sources told ESPN, The Athletic and the New York Post about the apparent ankle sprain, which occurred Sunday at the Intermountain Health Performance Center.

The No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft totaled 1,321 yards from scrimmage and 10 scores off 321 touches last season. He started all 17 games of his rookie campaign.

The Raiders listed Mike Washington Jr., a fourth-round pick in April's 2026 NFL Draft, as their second-string running back on their unofficial depth chart. Dylan Laube, Roman Hemby and Dare Ogunbowale are among the Raiders' other backup running backs.
