The throw was low and beyond Jeanty’s reach, causing him to go down awkwardly. He quickly received medical attention on the field from team trainers before being helped off the field, but he was unable to put any weight on his right leg. He did not return. The team provided no statement after practice.Jeanty is entering his second season in Las Vegas after being selected with the sixth pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. He led all rookies with 266 rushes for 975 yards last season, pacing the Raiders’ backfield. The Raiders and Jeanty expected him to make a big jump in production under new head coach Klint Kubiak.

“I think just to take a step forward in each and every facet of the game,” Jeanty said of his goals for the year on July 30. “I wouldn’t say so much stats-wise, but I think if I just continue to get better, then all those things will come.”If Jeanty misses time, rookie Mike Washington Jr. is next in line in the backfield. The fourth-rounder has been impressive in training camp and in the preseason, totaling 119 yards on 15 carries, including a 53-yard run against the Arizona Cardinals and a 33-yard run against the Houston Texans.“I see a very talented young man with a bright future ahead of him that’s extremely humble and hard-working,” head coach Klint Kubiak said of Washington after the Texans game. “If he just keeps that mindset, he’ll keep getting better.”The Raiders’ backfield depth also includes third-year back Dylan Laube, veteran free agent addition Dare Ogunbowale and undrafted free agent Roman Hemby. This story will be updated.
