Nvidia (NVDA) plans to use a $6B deal with AI startup Poolside to build open-weight AI models, one to compete with China’s DeepSeek and Kimi K3, Robbie Whelan of The Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The company’s deal with Poolside will also present a direct challenge to U.S. AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
