South Indian Bank’s latest campaign, ‘Onam Orumayude Olam’, is ambitious in scale as it weaves together a story on the spirit of togetherness that embodies Kerala’s most awaited festival. The 90-second film shows a group of youngsters coming together to restore a forgotten snake boat through community crowdfunding, eventually inspiring veteran oarsmen to return to the boat race. Shot against the backdrop of the Alappuzha backwaters, the ad draws from the realities faced by community boat clubs, where the rising cost of maintenance is keeping centuries-old chundan vallams out of water. Directed by filmmaker Martin Prakkat and scripted by Sarat Prakash, the ad has actor Kiran Peethambaran in a pivotal role. The chundan vallam featured in the film was actually restored as part of the production.Reminder officersThis Raksha Bandhan, Flipkart is helping sisters hire ‘Brother Reminder Officers’ (BROs) to ensure no brother forgets to buy a Rakhi gift. Flipkart turns this information into targeted ads on LinkedIn, inviting the brother’s colleagues to take on the role of a BRO to deliver the reminder in person, along with a sweet deal — SuperCoins — to nudge the brother towards the Flipkart Rakhi Store.Tile pileROFF, a tile and stone fixing solutions brand from Pidilite Industries Ltd, has unveiled a quirky television campaign highlighting the importance of choosing the right tile installation system for long-lasting performance.
