A man was stabbed to death and another was injured in an attack by a harbour in the early hours of Sunday.Police arrested a 21-year-old man after being called to the harbour in Ramsgate, Kent, just before 5am.They found two men with stab wounds in the area, both of whom were taken to hospital.A 52-year-old man who was found on Harbour Street sadly later died from his injuries.A 48-year-old man found on Harbour Parade has since been released from hospital. Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the attack.One of the victims of the attack was a taxi driver whose vehicle crashed onto a bollard during the attack, the Isle of Thanet News reports.The car became wedged on top of a concrete sphere where it remained inside a cordon on Sunday. It is the worst I have ever seen.'We are calling on our MP, Polly Billington, to raise this matter in Westminster and to push for increased policing in our towns. 'Antisocial behaviour and drug-related issues are rising in our community and must be tackled to make Ramsgate a safer place for everyone.'I have already written to Chief Inspector Ian Swallow, TDC, and local councillors to request a multi-agency meeting to address this.'While local businesses are working hard to survive, incidents like this make our town feel unsafe for residents and for visitors who want to enjoy their time here.'Cllr Becky Wing added: 'The ongoing antisocial behaviour from a small number of people and the alarming increase in knife crime is extremely worrying. 'Together with businesses we have been having regular meetings with the police and other agencies in an attempt to improve the situation in our town.'We welcomed the return of the Public Spaces Protection Order. However, the impact of the PSPO has failed to materialise and our town continues to feel unsafe and uncomfortable. 'Another meeting is due in September but I have written to Polly Billington, Inspector Swallow, TDC Community Safety and Licensing in response to this incident, in the hope a sustained multi-agency action can be implemented to tackle what appears to be an ongoing situation of ASB and a developing serious crime situation.'Meetings are all very well but what our town needs now is some serious action to address crime and ASB.'Patrols have been increased in the area and the murder investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.Anyone with information is urged to get in touch with Kent Police, quoting reference 46/139262/26.
