TEHRAN, August 23. /TASS/. A gas field holding more than 212 billion cubic meters has been discovered in Iran’s southern Fars province, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said.
"More than 212 billion cubic meters of gas have been discovered at this field. Taking into account a recovery efficiency of approximately 73-75%, about 161 billion cubic meters can be produced," the Fars news agency quoted him as saying.
Along with gas, the field contains gas condensate.
According to Paknejad, the authorities are taking urgent measures to begin the development of this field as soon as possible.
