India’s largest airline moves to enter PH market

MANILA, Philippines — Indigo, India’s largest airline, is moving ahead with its Philippine expansion plans, formally seeking regulatory approval to begin scheduled services to the country.

In a notice dated Aug. 14 but published only in the previous week, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) said it had received a petition from InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., IndiGo’s parent company. The group is seeking a foreign air carrier’s permit to operate scheduled air transport services in the Philippines.
