U.S. diplomat Paul Houston today began his duties as Chargé d’Affaires of the United States in Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine announced this on X.
The diplomat began his mission in Kyiv by attending the National Prayer Breakfast marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
“Religious freedom is one of America’s fundamental freedoms. It is also a real and necessary foundation for peace. This year, as we celebrate 250 years of American independence, it is an honor for me to begin my work in Kyiv by celebrating religious freedom at Ukraine’s National Prayer Breakfast, which coincides with the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence,” the embassy said.
