Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed the leaders of six European countries and other senior officials who arrived in Kyiv ahead of Ukraine’s Independence Day at the city’s railway station

According to Sybiha, on the morning of August 23, he welcomed the leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway, as well as other senior officials, to Kyiv. “Ahead of Independence Day, we feel that we are not alone. Our allies are standing with us. They will hold bilateral and multilateral talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Important decisions will be made and important statements issued,” Sybiha wrote.
Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, announcing his visit to Kyiv, noted that 35 years ago, Estonia and Ukraine restored their independence.
“Today we celebrate Ukraine’s National Flag Day and will meet at the NB8-Ukraine summit. Putin hopes that time is on his side. Our task is to prove him wrong. Ukraine must have everything it needs to defend itself and determine its own future,” he wrote on X.
