Nigerians have been urged to embrace their patriotic roles as a necessary defence against threats to democracy and national development ahead of 2027 general election.

The call was made by the National President, Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria (PAN), Jasper Emenike while speaking at PAN 3rd annual national conference and awards held in Lagos, themed, ‘Patriotic citizenship as the bedrock of democratic resilience and sustainable nation-building in Nigeria’’.

Emenike described patriotism roles of the citizen as a fundamental requirement to withstanding visible threats to democracy and nation building imperatives.

While stating that the theme of the conference was timely and crucial, he said: “It resonates deeply with PAN new Nigeria message especially as our nation heads to very defining polls between January and February 2027. We have a collective duty to make the right choices and to protect every fabric that holds our democracy.

“Our new Nigeria message is coherent and literarily unambiguous when received with open mind. A new Nigeria begins with new mindset which translates to attitudinal and behavioral change, in other words, a new way of doing things.
