NewsUK NewsLeicesterGeorge Clover was attacked as he cycled in Leicester and later died at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham due to his injuries12:53, 22 Aug 2026Three people have been arrested as part of a murder probe in Leicester following an "unprovoked" attack on a "much-loved" cyclist.‌George Glover was punched as he was cycling along Narborough Road at 6.30am on Monday and was taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham with life-threatening injuries.‌He died on Thursday, with the incident reported to police by one of the 27-year-old's family members on Wednesday. Officers have since determined that Mr Glover was punched as he cycled along Narborough Road, close to the junction with Noel Street.‌A 31-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman remain in custody after they were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit murder. A man aged 24 was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder last night and remains in custody.Mr Glover has been described by his family as a "loving and loyal" man whose three siblings looked up to him. In a statement, they said: "George was a much-loved son and big brother to his three siblings. His loss is already felt so deeply.‌"He was a hardworking, focused young man who worked so hard to get a job he loved and enjoyed. George lived a simple life. He went to work then came home to enjoy his gaming or putting bike parts together. He very much kept himself to himself."His siblings looked up to him and as soon as he arrived home, the banter with them would start. He was loving, loyal and had a good sense of humour. He enjoyed Anime, Lego and Pokémon cards.‌"He had a tough start in life with physical challenges but we’re so proud of the young man he’d become.
