A 12-year-old boy 'greatly loved by everyone' was named this afternoon after being allegedly murdered when he was hit by a vehicle on a country road in Essex.Bobby Bloomfield died following the collision in Pilgrims Hatch and two people - a 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man - have been arrested on suspicion of murder.The victim's family said in a statement: 'Losing a child is every parent's nightmare. We are living that nightmare, and no words can ever explain how we are feeling.'Bobby brought light and life into all our lives, and we have lost that forever. The hole he has left can never be filled. We would ask for our privacy to be respected as we pull together as a family at this horrific time.'Essex Police were called to the scene in the Brentwood suburb on Sunday at about 5.40pm following reports that a vehicle had collided with a child on Ashwells Road.One witness told the Daily Mail: 'It's harrowing. When I got there, a few others had gathered around him. He'd been knocked off his scooter. His coat had come off.'The poor lad. We were asking him for his name and we got Bobby out of him. Clearly he was in a very bad way. The police had already been called. It was all so tragic.'His family rushed to the scene and I believe his mother had come. There was no sign of whoever else had been involved. It was heartbreaking to see.'As people laid flowers at the scene this afternoon, one woman said: 'This should never have happened. Bobby was a lovely young lad. This is a complete tragedy.'It is a heartbreaking situation. Everyone is devastated. Bobby has had his life snatched away from him in the most disturbing way. It makes no sense.'Another local resident said: 'It looks like he was knocked off his scooter. People are trying to work out how it happened and whether it was targeted.'Shenfield High School pupil Bobby was taken to hospital with 'very serious injuries' and died - prompting a murder probe which saw two people from the area arrested.As they remained in custody for questioning after the force secured a magistrates' warrant for further detention, flowers and candles were placed at the scene. A third tribute said: 'We will miss you Bobby but we know you are up in the sky. Your presence will never leave me. Rest easy.'And a fourth said: 'Bobby, gone far too soon. I enjoyed the times we had together. You will be forever missed. Thinking of your family at this time of hurt and in pain.'Bobby was a student at Shenfield High School, which issued a statement today saying: 'We are extremely saddened to learn about the death of one of our pupils.'This has come as a shock to us all, and we send our deepest condolences to the pupil's family. We are supporting our pupils, staff and wider school community.'Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood, who is overseeing the investigation, said: 'Our investigation team has been working around the clock as they continue to build a complete picture of the tragic incident on Sunday.'This is not straightforward work and there are complexities involved which of course we cannot explore publicly at this stage.'This work has included the review of a significant amount of CCTV and obtaining key evidence from those nearby. This work is key to ensuring we understand all aspects of the incident as we progress.'Chief Inspector Terry Fisher, Brentwood district commander, added: 'I'm acutely aware that this incident is likely to have a significant impact in our community.'I know the investigation team is doing everything possible to fully understand the circumstances and progress this appropriately. Police urged residents to review any CCTV they have from 8am through to 7pm on Sunday, and to get in touch with the force through a public portal that has been set up for the incident.DCI Metcalfe added: 'Although we remain in the early stages of this investigation, we are confident this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the community.'Pilgrims Hatch is a community on the outskirts of Brentwood and is known as an upmarket family-friendly suburb in a semi-rural area close to green belt land.The area with a population of 6,000 has been used in filming for ITV reality show The Only Way Is Essex and was home to former cast member Michael Hassini.
