JEDDAH: Michael Jackson impersonator Lenny Jay brought his tribute show “This Is Michael” to Abadi Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah on Friday for a night of music, dance and nostalgia.

The show, organized by Benchmark, drew a packed audience, with Jackson fans turning up in outfits inspired by the late US pop icon’s signature style.

Jay, who has performed his show across the world, took the crowd through some of Jackson’s best-known songs, combining live vocals with the dazzling choreography for which the legendary performer — known as the King of Pop — was famed, including his iconic moonwalk.

For many in attendance, the evening was also an opportunity to share their love of Jackson’s music with the next generation.

Deena Mohammed, who attended with her children, said: “I have been a Michael Jackson fan since I was a child, and watching a show like this live was something I never imagined I would experience. I had heard so much about Lenny Jay and his moonwalk, but seeing it on stage was completely different. It was a memorable night, and sharing it with my children made it even more special.”
