And it will take its rightful place in our Union.” International gestures of support are planned across Europe to mark the occasion. In Paris, the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated in the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag at 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 24, according to Le Parisien. The illumination will be preceded by a ceremony at the Trocadéro esplanade, featuring speeches by Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire and Ukrainian Ambassador to France Vadym Omelchenko. Following the speeches, the Ukrainian children’s choir “Zernyatko” is scheduled to perform.
