Dubai: Students across Saudi Arabia will return to public schools tomorrow ( Sunday, August 23) with a new set of digital services designed to allow pupils, parents and teachers to track schoolwork and communicate without having to visit schools in person. The Ministry of Education has made the services available through its Unified Education Portal, bringing academic tasks, communication tools and a range of administrative services into a single digital platform.Students and parents will be able to view homework, periodic tests and other school assignments, providing families with a clearer picture of academic progress throughout the school year.A messaging feature will also allow parents to communicate directly with teachers and school administrative staff, reducing the need for in-person visits for routine inquiries and follow-ups.Digital ID for studentsStudents will also have access to an official digital identification card containing key personal and academic information, including their name, nationality, identity number, school and grade. The digital ID includes a QR code that allows authorised entities to verify the information, providing students with an electronic means of identification when required. The move forms part of a broader expansion of digital education services as the kingdom prepares for the start of the new academic year.Other services available through the portal include registering for school buses, transferring students between schools, registering a guardian and completing procedures related to newly enrolled students. The system is intended to give students, parents and teachers a more direct way to manage academic and administrative matters while strengthening communication between families and schools.
