Montreal Victoire forward Dara Greig was set to have a “bringing it home” ceremony where she shepherded her Professional Women’s Hockey League trophy around her hometown of Lethbridge in the Canadian province of Alberta on Thursday.But it was postponed.Because the Walter Cup is missing.The official Walter Cup, presented when the Victoire beat the Ottawa Charge in four games to win the PWHL championship in May, is housed in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. Each championship-winning team, however, is issued its own version, and now Montreal’s is missing.“The Walter Cup keeper trophy awarded to the Montreal Victoire did not arrive as expected at its latest stop on the team’s tour,” the PWHL said in a statement. “We are working closely with the shipping company to locate it.”The trophy was scheduled to be in Lethbridge, Alta., for Greig’s hometown celebration, including an event at VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

It was founded with six teams, which grew to eight in the 2025-26 season. The Minnesota Frost won the first two championships, and Montreal in 2026 became the first Canadian team to win the Walter Cup.
