A 48-year-old labourer was killed after a car allegedly rammed into him while he was placing safety indication cones on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Exit 15 at Pedda Golconda on Friday morning.Nemaligari Naveen Raj, a resident of Nagaram village in Shamshabad mandal, was working as a labourer with Abitej Enterprises for the past two years. He had gone to the ORR around 9 a.m. for work.According to the complaint lodged by his wife Nemaligari Andalu, Naveen Raj was working on the ORR near Exit 15 on the Tukkuguda-Gachibowli carriageway around 9.20 a.m. when he was hit by a car from behind allegedly being driven at a high speed and in a negligent manner.He sustained severe injuries to his head and fractures to his left arm and leg and died at the spot, police said. The driver of the car was identified as Indukuri Venkata Shiva Praneeth Varma, 23, a private employee and resident of BN Reddy Nagar, police said.The Shamshabad police registered a case and are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
