Fisheries Minister A. Srinath on Friday said the All India Chamber of Commerce and Industries (AICCI’s) initiative to organise a major startup summit here was a significant effort to take Thoothukudi to the next level, noting that such summits were generally held in metropolitan cities.Addressing the valedictory ceremony of the two-day AICCI National Startup Summit 2026, Mr. Srinath lauded the initiative of AICCI in organising the summit in Thoothukudi, stating that such startup summits were usually held in metropolitan cities such as Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. He said that bringing such an initiative to Thoothukudi was a significant initiative that would help to take the city to the next level.The Minister appreciated the dedicated efforts of AICCI in organising the summit, noting that the organisation had worked for nearly four months with meticulous planning and preparation to make the event a success. Appreciating the enthusiasm and initiative, he also lauded the young entrepreneurs who had come forward with confidence to participate in the summit.Thoothukudi District Collector Vishu Mahajan, V. O. Chidambaranar Port secretary S.P. Mohan Kumar, AICCI functionaries S. Sankar Marimuthu, president, S.
