When I was offered the chance to test the SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C flash drive, I jumped at it; it was the exact device I’d been looking to buy. With legacy USB-A ports quickly becoming obsolete, adding a compact USB-C flash drive to my daily setup made complete sense.
The version I tested was the 128GB model, it’s ultra compact design which was about the size of my thumb nail is quite novel.
The first test I put the drive through was editing a 4K video directly off the drive itself. Aside from a false storage error message from Final Cut Pro on my Mac, the drive handled the workload impressively well.
There slowdowns were minimal considering i was walking off an external drive, with only heavy colour grading causing minor lag. Even with two stacked 4K video clips playing simultaneously on the timeline, performance remained smooth.
