LUCENA CITY — The Department of Health (DOH) in the Calabarzon region urged parents and caregivers to have their children vaccinated against measles and rubella as the region’s supplemental immunization campaign reached its ninth day on Thursday (Aug. 20).
In a report on Friday, Aug. 21, DOH said 476,679 children, or 35.7 percent of the region’s 1,335,685 target population, had received measles-rubella (MR) vaccines as of 10 p.m. on Thursday.

The Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA), dubbed “Ligtas Tigdas 2026,” is being conducted from Aug. 10 to 28.
