A university student has told an Eldoret court how three armed robbers stormed his family home at night, demanded food, cooked eggs and ugali for supper and later stole property worth Sh2.4 million in Uasin Gishu County.
Edwin Mwangi told Senior Resident Magistrate Daniel Sitati that the three men arrived on a motorcycle and stormed the family home in Njambini, on Eldoret’s outskirts, on November 22, 2025.
Mwangi said the robbers first demanded food before ransacking the house for valuables. One of them, armed with an AK-47 rifle, guarded the door while another, carrying a panga, watched over Mwangi and his mother. The third suspect searched the bedrooms.
Mwangi said one of the robbers complained of hunger and ordered his mother, Margaret Charagu, to prepare supper. When she offered them githeri, the suspect reportedly rejected it and demanded meat, fish, chicken or another meal.
