The UAE's National Media Authority took legal action against a resident for posting social media content deemed insulting to Emirati women.
The resident's advertising permit was suspended for three months for violating the Media Regulation Law and its executive regulations.
The post called for non-Emirati models to impersonate local women for a photo shoot marking Emirati Women's Day, citing a lack of available Emiratis.
UAE law prohibits content that harms national unity, restricts misuse of traditional attire in advertising, and carries penalties including fines, imprisonment and deportation.
