Aston Villa’s summer transfer window has been less of a refresh and more of a controlled demolition. The club has already parted ways with at least three first-team regulars, pocketing a reported £197M or more in the process, and the window isn’t closed yet.
The biggest departure by far: Morgan Rogers, sold to Chelsea for a fee reported between £117M and £138M.
The departures keep stacking up
Rogers’ move to Stamford Bridge headlined a busy summer of outgoing business at Villa Park. Youri Tielemans joined Manchester United for £35M, removing a proven Premier League midfielder from Unai Emery’s setup.
Donyell Malen departed for Roma at £21.6M, while Enzo Barrenechea headed to Benfica for £10.3M. Lewis Dobbin also left, joining Southampton for a fee in the range of £9M to £10.5M.
