Greek pole vaulter Emmanouil Karalis came second Thursday at the Diamond League meeting in Lausanne, behind Sweden’s Armand Duplantis.
Karalis cleared 6.16 meters in his second attempt, but was unable to better that, while Duplantis cleared 6.21m.
On Sunday, Karalis again took silver at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, England. Duplantis soared to his fourth successive European title in the same encounter, clearing 6.15m to improve on his own championship record.
