Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, has declared that his administration will henceforth rely more on credible data and evidence in planning, budgeting and implementing development programmes across the state.

He stated this on Thursday in Katsina while launching the Katsina State Development Plan, State Social Protection Policy, Multi-Sectoral Strategic Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition, State Nutrition Policy, General Household Survey Report and Statistical Yearbook, implemented by the state Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning through the Bureau of Statistics.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Faruk Jobe, said the documents represented more than policy publications, describing them as instruments that would shape the state’s development trajectory and improve the welfare of its citizens.

According to him, “Today’s event is far more than a ceremonial unveiling of documents. It is a public declaration of our administration’s commitment to planning with purpose, governing with evidence, and delivering development that is inclusive, measurable and sustainable.

“Without reliable data, planning becomes speculative. Without planning, development becomes accidental. Our administration has therefore made data and planning central pillars of governance.”
