The war in the Middle East is diverting a significant portion of U.S. military resources, creating additional opportunities for China to intensify pressure on Taiwan.
At the same time, one of the most dangerous potential scenarios is the simultaneous outbreak of two large-scale crises—a Russian attack against a NATO member state and a Chinese operation against Taiwan. Ukrainian diplomat Ihor Dolhov expressed this view in his program “Ihor Dolhov’s Program,” which was released on Ukrinform’s YouTube channel.
He noted that Ukraine possesses Patriot anti-aircraft missile launchers but currently faces a shortage of missiles to counter Russian ballistic attacks. According to Dolhov, the problem with stocks of such missiles is not limited to Ukraine. “There are fewer of them in the United States. There are fewer of them in Europe. There are fewer of them in other countries,” the diplomat noted.

Dolhov attributes this situation, in particular, to the extensive use of American weapons during the Gulf War.
