CALUMPIT, Bulacan — A 17-year-old girl was electrocuted Wednesday, Aug. 19, after touching a live wire in a flooded village here, authorities said.

Ojo Rhian Joy Martinez was declared dead on arrival at the nearest hospital after residents rushed her there for treatment, according to reports received by the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Martinez was heading home and crossing a temporary wooden bridge built by residents over a flooded section of Sitio Bagong Barrio in Barangay San Miguel at about 1 p.m.
