Hossein Mohebbi, spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has threatened that the Islamic Republic will deploy “more precise and more destructive” weaponry in the event of another war.
In an interview with Mehr News Agency on Thursday, August 20, Mohebbi stated, “If a new war breaks out, our weapons will certainly be different from the past.”
According to the IRGC spokesperson, these differences may involve warhead types, strike precision, missile range, or other technological enhancements. “Day by day, we are advancing in all areas of military hardware, producing our weapons to be more accurate, destructive, and technologically sophisticated,” he added.
Concurrently, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed the newly announced U.S. economic campaign as a continuation of Washington’s “failed” policies.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Araghchi asserted that what has been dubbed an “Economic D-Day” is an attempt to divert attention from domestic U.S. issues, including record national debt and rising interest rates. Labeling U.S. sanctions as “economic terrorism,” he claimed that continuing these policies would lead to “further defeats” for Washington while threatening global economic stability and national sovereignty.
