MoonPay has added Cash App Pay as a payment option for buying digital assets, and it’s now live inside MetaMask for eligible US customers. The integration means users can tap their Cash App balance at checkout to fund crypto purchases directly into self-custody wallets, skipping the usual friction of entering card numbers or logging into separate accounts.

MoonPay says it’s the first platform to offer Cash App Pay for digital asset transactions. Given that Cash App carries roughly 57 to 59 million monthly active users, that’s a lot of people who just got a new on-ramp into crypto.

What the integration actually does

Until now, Cash App users who wanted to buy crypto through the app were limited to Bitcoin and USDC. This MoonPay integration changes the math considerably. By routing purchases through MoonPay’s checkout flow, Cash App balances can now be used to acquire a much wider array of digital assets. Those assets land in self-custody wallets like MetaMask and Trust Wallet, meaning users maintain direct control of their funds.

No additional logins. No card details to fumble through. Users select Cash App Pay at checkout, confirm the transaction, and the funds move from their Cash App balance into whatever token they’re purchasing.
