Delecia Davids is still trying to wrap her head around the news.
The Stellenbosch University (SU) academic has become the first South African to receive the prestigious Einstein Fellowship, an achievement that will take her from Stellenbosch to the garden cottage of Albert Einstein’s summer house in Caputh, Germany.
“It has not fully sunk in yet,” Davids said, describing the fully funded fellowship as once in a lifetime opportunity.
Offered by the Einstein Forum in collaboration with the Wittenstein Foundation, the fellowship supports exceptional young intellectuals pursuing interdisciplinary work beyond their previous specialisation.
