The project was delivered in partnership with industrial automation and electrical solutions provider Winn-Marion, which led the installation of Kempower-supplied charging hardware and technology. The new charging system now provides 650 kW of total capacity across 26 charging plugs, and is designed to support the buses around their daily operating schedules – allowing the fleet to be charged between routes and ready for service when required.

The Hilltop terminal itself is operated by Denver Public Schools, Colorado’s largest school district. Its electric fleet was recently expanded with 25 Blue Bird Vision electric schoolbuses, bringing the total number of e-buses up to 28 – making it the largest electric schoolbus fleet in Colorado, according to Kempower.

Monil Malhotra, president of Kempower North America, commented: “Electrifying a schoolbus fleet requires charging infrastructure that works around the realities of daily transportation schedules. Kempower technology keeps electric school buses charged, ready, and on the road.”

The deployment marks one of Kempower’s latest electric bus projects in North America, as the Finnish charging specialist expands its presence in the region’s growing fleet electrification market. In March of this year, Kempower – alongside Windrose and EV Realty – completed its first Megawatt Charging System (MCS) session in North America using a Kempower Mega Satellite charger.
