The financing model combines hardware leasing with maintenance services, enabling charging operators to spread investment costs while securing long-term operational support from Kempower. According to the company, the model lowers the upfront financial hurdle for charging infrastructure projects and helps accelerate the rollout of public DC fast charging.
Kempower and DLL launched their financing partnership in 2024 to support the rollout of DC fast charging infrastructure across Europe. The installation at the Astwick service station in Bedfordshire marks the first UK project delivered under the scheme.
The charging hub is located on the northbound A1 near Hitchin. It comprises four Kempower Double Satellite chargers with a total of eight CCS2 charging points. The chargers are connected to two Kempower Power Units, enabling charging capacities of up to 400 kW per connected vehicle.

Financing the project through Kempower with DLL was a huge enabler.”
