The new service will operate seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays, with the Bratislava Region providing a subsidy.
After many months without one, Bratislava will once again have a round-the-clock pharmacy emergency service. From 1 September, a 24-hour pharmacy will operate in a building next to the Ružinov Polyclinic on Ružinovská Street, where the previous service was located. It will be open seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
Currently, emergency pharmacies in the capital are open only until 22:00.
“A 24-hour pharmacy has a history and a natural place here, so we are not starting from scratch,” said Ján Klimas, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Comenius University, which is the key partner in providing the service.
The university will not only provide the necessary professional expertise, but will also offer patients additional and expanded pharmacy services. The operation of the pharmacy will be subsidised by the Bratislava Self-Governing Region.
