(Mom’s Touch) Mom’s Touch said Thursday it opened its first Singapore location, marking its first store under a master franchise agreement with Singapore retailer FairPrice Group. The first Singapore location opened on South Bridge Road in the central business district and drew about 200 customers waiting to enter. Despite its 90-seat capacity, the store’s average daily sales during its first five days more than doubled the local target.Mom’s Touch said it will focus on localization by taking Singapore’s diverse food culture and halal standards into account, while maintaining the taste and quality of signature menu items at the same level as in Korea. The company will also offer Singapore-exclusive menu items tailored to local tastes, including a black pepper-based Singapore edition of the Super Thigh Burger, a fish fillet burger and an Angus beef burger. Customers can also choose their preferred chicken cut.Mom’s Touch plans to continuously improve the operation of its local stores based on a global standard manual that incorporates operational know-how accumulated and refined through its businesses in Korea and Japan. It will apply its “K-QSR system” to local stores, maintaining standards for everything from store environments to customer service. The company will open its second Singapore store at a shopping mall in a residential area by the end of the year. Unlike the first, located in a major office district, the second store will target residents, families and students.“By bringing a globally loved brand like Mom’s Touch to Singapore, we aim to make the special dining experience that local customers have been looking forward to easily accessible close to home,” said Dennis Quek, general manager of Mom’s Touch Singapore and GM of FairPrice Group’s Kopitiam.
