International students have become an increasingly important part of the UK’s migration picture, with more recent students choosing to remain in the country after completing their studies under the UK visa system.

An analysis by the Migration Observatory, based on Home Office data obtained through Freedom of Information requests, shows that recent cohorts have been more likely to move from student visas into work visas than students arriving before Brexit.
