While rivals commit hundreds of billions to AI infrastructure, Apple's restrained capital approach has made its stock a hedge against volatility

Apple $AAPL stock is separating itself from the rest of the Magnificent Seven as its conservative approach to artificial intelligence spending draws investor attention, according to MarketWatch.

The Magnificent Seven — Alphabet $GOOGL, Apple, Amazon $AMZN.com, Meta $META Platforms, Microsoft $MSFT, Nvidia $NVDA, and Tesla $TSLA — together account for approximately one-third of the S&P 500 index by weight. But as the AI trade has advanced, Apple has broken from the pack, with its stock outperforming the rest of the group in ways that have caught investor attention, according to MarketWatch. The company's lower capital spending relative to peers has positioned its stock as a portfolio hedge against volatility.
