As a footballer, Calvin Petersen achieved legendary status with his exploits and accolades to his name. He also tried his hand at coaching when he playing days were over.
During his prime years as a footballer in the 1980s and early ’90s, Calvin Petersen was a feared striker in the old Federation Professional League, National Soccer League and his time on loan with SC Eisenstadt in Austria.
Petersen also secured one international cap for Bafana Bafana in a World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria in 1992.
However, 64-year-old Petersen has had health challenges in recent years and has since been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This has left his family experiencing financial difficulties in providing adequate care.
Their plight has motivated friends and well-wishers to rally around the Petersen family and endeavour to raise funds.
