Guwahati: The United Naga Council (UNC) the apex body of Nagas in Manipur has called a 24-hour Emergency Total Shutdown in all Naga districts and Naga-inhabited areas of Manipur from 11 pm on August 14 to 11 pm on August 15, following an attack on Naga people.Two people were killed and two injured in a attack by suspected militants on Friday. The injured were identified as Maliangjinang Abonmai and Namthiulungbou Prinmai.The injured were airlifted by the Indian Army from Haochong to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.The UNC said the attack on Naga Independence Day was a direct challenge to the Naga people, their identity and their right to self-determination.
